After The Wedding or Event is Over…How do I Keep My Flowers Until I Can Get Them to Frosted Floral Memories?
1. After the dust begins to settle after your Wedding or event is over, that night, you need to take your flowers over to the sink and allow a slow stream of water to flow into the middle of your Wedding Bokay only if your wedding flowers were designed in a plastic bouquet holder with “oasis” ( a special floral foam that holds water). Maybe your flowers have their stems attached to your flowers ( a lot of florists have special tricks of the trade and the natural stems are not often attached!) and the stems become the handle. In this case, just put the stems in a container of water, including the ribbon and/or the handle decorations. This will not hurt the handle decorations. Don’t forget the Grooms Boutonniere even if it is damaged a lot!
2. Mist the flowers with a little water and place them in a clean plastic bag large enough to cover your flowers. Do not make it too tight. Your flower will re-hydrate through their petals such as wilted lettuce that has been misted with a little water and in a plastic bag. The lettuce re-hydrates and becomes crispy again! Your wedding flowers will do the same thing.
3. Put your event flowers in a refrigerator! NOT the Freezer!!! Our freeze dry preservation experts are the only ones that can freeze your flowers. Just make sure where you place your flowers that they are not in the small spot where the milk might freeze. Do not place the flowers there. Call us at toll free 1(877)421 5610 or email our preservation experts at preserve@frostedfloralmemories.com ASAP!!!
If your Wedding or Event happened on Saturday…just keep your flowers in the refrigerator until Monday. We do take Sundays off to worship! Your flowers will be perfectly happy…actually the extra day gives your flowers an extra day to re-hydrate.
If your destination, that first night is in a Hotel…try to remember to pack a plastic bag with your overnight bag so you can do the above steps in your room, then take your flowers to the front desk and request the Hotel to place your wrapped Wedding Bouquet in their coolers until you can contact our freeze dry specialists. We know florists say you cannot mix flowers with food, but we are also experienced florists since 1961 AND freeze dry specialists since 1991 and with our experience with so many bouquets we should know best!
· Our very best recommendation is to delegate the above process to a family member or friend!
